OGRC, NGTF, NOCI, GCGC????? Ever feel confused by the number of Gay organizations which exist? Ever wonder just what their purposes and aims are? WELL, the Calendar beginning this month will be working to end that confusion. Each month we will be spotlighting one or two groups to give you the up to date information on what they are doing. BUT THERE'S MORE...Not only will we be covering Lesbian/Gay groups we will also be featuring different groups that sections of our Community are both interested in and supportive of. Among these groups are BRSD (Buckeye Rainbow Society for the Deaf) and TAKE BACK THE NIGHT, this month's feature group. Oh, in case you're wondering the initials at the start of this mean, they are OHIO GAY RIGHTS COALITION, NATIONAL GAY TASK FORCE, NORTHERN OHIO COALITION, INC. (formerly Greater Cleveland Gay Coalition), and GREATER CINCINNATI GAY COALITION.

The concept of TAKE BACK THE NIGHT had it's origins in England, where a group of women organized the first march and rally in protest of the crimes committed against women at night.

By marching together the women symbolically 'took back' their fear of the night and drew the Community's attention to conditions which existed. Cleveland's first march, held last year, was an outstanding

success.

The 2nd Annual March and Rally to be held on August 2nd. is in the planning stages. Planning meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of the month, on the third floor of the Main Classroom Building of Cleveland State University. Any women who would be interested in helping with the planning for this year's march are invited to attend.
